In a dystopian surveillance state, there is typically a high level of government monitoring and control over its citizens, while in a dystopian anarchy, there is a lack of government control leading to chaos and lawlessness. Depending on the balance between surveillance and anarchy in the society, it could exhibit characteristics of both or lean more towards one over the other. **
